Hi, Friends! Last week, I wrote about the Season of Kindness, which, to me, serves as a bridge between Halloween and Thanksgiving Day, the official launch of the holiday season. It’s also the time when our holiday magazines start popping up in your mailboxes, at your local shops and libraries, and all around the Shires and Mountain Towns! It’s just in time to start getting excited about all the festivities to come, no matter how you celebrate.

Stratton Magazine Holiday ‘25 is exemplifying the theme “Warm & Fuzzy” this year, starting off with the crackle of Stratton Mountain fireworks on the cover. It’s chock full of articles you won’t want to miss, including stories about local wood carving artists, Northshire Bookstore’s Book Angel Program, and the delightful Brattleboro Festival of Miniatures, to name just a few.

I’m also elated to hold the first ever Manchester Life Magazine Holiday/Winter ‘25 issue in my hands! As Editor-in-Chief of both The Guide and Manchester Life, this is a bit like Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year’s Eve happening all at once! Be sure to check out all the Manchester Merriment festivities this year, including our feature on the Manchester Tractor Parade. We’ve also got a delectable dessert feature, an in depth look at the Northshire Civic Center and Riley Rink, a spotlight on Pearl’s at the Garage, and so much more! All that topped off by another gorgeous cover illustration by our Vice President and Art Director, Len Kenyon.
