Meet Jen & John Paterson

Hi, Friends! In our March 19, 2025 issue of The Guide, you met my colleague, John Paterson. As you now know, John and his wife, Jen Kane Paterson, are the founders of Green Mountain Media Group and now the proud owners of The Guide, Manchester Life Magazine, Stratton Magazine, and Vermont Magazine. Jen, John, and the team have spent the very beginning of 2026 digging into production and laying the groundwork for an exciting year to come!

Jen and John are also happy residents of our local community, sharing a deep connection to Southern Vermont. Both are avid outdoor enthusiasts and animal lovers who fully enjoy the seasonal variety that Vermont has to offer year ‘round. For over 30 years, Jen has exhibited her passion for horseback riding by competing in the Hunter and Jumper divisions of the much-beloved Vermont Summer Festival in Dorset. Their family lives on a lovely farm in Weston and their kids go to Burr & Burton Academy. 

I was personally excited to learn that Jen is a musician, which pairs so beautifully with the team’s collective love of music. At our first meeting, we talked about the local music scene and getting together to jam some time, which I knew was a good sign! 

We are thrilled to be partnering with Jen and John on our Vermont publications. My team and I eagerly anticipate this collaboration and look forward to strengthening our relationship with John and getting to know Jen better as we work together to share authentic and captivating stories of our region.
