Solaris Vocal Ensemble

The Burlington-based chamber choir led by Dr. Dawn O. Willis, will present a benefit concert on Sunday, June 16, 2019, 4:00PM at the First Congregational Church (FCC) in Manchester, VT, sponsored by the FCC Chancel Choir. Admission to the concert is free, with audience members encouraged to make a donation to the historic church’s Organ Restoration Fund.

The concert, entitled Serenade to Summer, will feature songs about the joys of life and singing, including madrigals, folksongs, spirituals, and opera choruses. Selections by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Giuseppe Verdi, Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, and Morten Lauridsen are among the works to be presented.

Solaris, considered by many to be the finest ensemble of its type in Vermont, is a mixed-voice choir of 24 – 30 members whose activities include live performances, benefit concerts for worthy not-for-profit organizations, recording, and touring.
