More Team Talent

Hello, Friends! The first day of Spring is tomorrow, a day I look forward to every year. The temperatures are still in flux, but the excitement in the air on warmer days is palpable. I’m also delighted to introduce you to the newest member of the Old Mill Road Media team and another one of my talented colleagues. John Paterson is our  new Vice President and National Account Director. I recently had the pleasure of attending a Vermont Tourism event with John, where I got the chance to learn more about him. Unsurprisingly, John is super friendly, loves Vermont, and has a wealth of advertising and marketing experience to share.

During our chat, John told me that his mother was an author, and when he mentioned one of her titles, my eyes popped out of my head. Katherine Paterson is the author of Bridge to Terabithia, a beloved children’s novel published in 1977, which won a Newbery Medal and has been made into two different films. I was so impressed! About a week later, I received a package in the mail from John with several of his mother’s books for my son, Elliott. It was a touching and generous gift. Welcome aboard, John! We’re thrilled to have you on the team.

John and his family moved to Southern Vermont in 2023 after a long career in advertising and marketing in New York City, working in both the print and digital worlds across multiple titles and companies.  Starting as an Account Executive at DDB Needham and Young and Rubicam, he moved over to the advertising sales side on titles like PEOPLE Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens, Traditional Home, Fitness, and American Baby.  He has spent his more recent years in the Healthcare category at companies like Healthline.com, PatientPoint, and Health Media Networks.

When he is not out telling and selling the story of our beautiful region to national advertisers, he spends his free time with his family and two children tending chickens and horses and two dogs in Weston.  John is an avid skier and biker, and a four season lover of all that Vermont has to offer!
